Choose your disc size

bohokiwi menstrual discs come in two sizes. The right size is mainly about fit and comfort, but your flow, cervix height and previous disc experience can also help guide your choice.

Small - 45 ml
61 mm diameter x 35 mm height
The smaller-diameter option. It may suit you if you prefer a smaller fit, have a lower cervix, or find a larger disc uncomfortable or difficult to position.

Regular - 60 ml
68 mm diameter x 39 mm height
The larger-diameter option. It may suit you if you prefer a larger fit, have a higher cervix, or want more capacity for your flow.

A disc should sit comfortably behind the pubic bone without causing pressure or slipping out of position. Finding the right size can take some trial and error.

Steam Steriliser Pod

The bohokiwi Steam Steriliser Pod provides a sturdy, reusable way to clean and sterilise your menstrual disc.

Made from 100% silicone, it keeps its shape during use and storage and has an attached lid with small steam-release holes.

Use it for rinsing during your cycle or for microwave steam or boiling-water sterilising as part of your regular care routine.

Using your menstrual disc

Wear for up to 12 hours depending on your flow and individual needs.

Insert the disc into the vaginal canal and tuck the front rim securely behind the pubic bone. If discs are new to you, give yourself time to become familiar with insertion, positioning and removal.

A menstrual disc can also be worn during penetrative vaginal sex if it is comfortable and correctly positioned. It is not a contraceptive and does not protect against sexually transmitted infections.

Cleaning and storage

Clean your disc regularly during your period and thoroughly between cycles.

Use the Steam Steriliser Pod with water for rinsing and cleaning during your cycle, or follow the bohokiwi instructions for microwave steam or boiling-water sterilising.

Once completely dry, store your disc in the cotton storage bag provided.
