How to Use Your Menstrual Cup & Disc Steriliser
Keep your bohokiwi menstrual cup or disc clean, fresh, and ready to reuse with our sterilisers. Use them at home, while travelling, or during your cycle for quick rinsing and end-of-cycle cleaning.
Important Safety Notes
Always wash your hands first.
Always add water before microwaving.
Do not microwave the steriliser empty.
Take care when handling hot water or steam.
Allow the steriliser to cool before removing your cup or disc.
Microwave times may vary, so start with 3 minutes and adjust if needed.
Collapsible Steriliser
Microwave Steam Clean
- Rinse your menstrual cup or disc first.
- Half-fill the steriliser with water.
- Place your cup or disc inside.
- Place the lid loosely on top so steam can circulate.
- Microwave for 3–5 minutes.
- Let it cool before opening.
- Remove your cup or disc and air dry on the lid.
Boiling Water Method
- Place your rinsed cup or disc inside the steriliser.
- Fill with boiling water.
- Place the lid on.
- Leave for 10 minutes.
- Carefully pour out the water.
- Air dry before storing.
Quick Rinse
- Add water to the steriliser.
- Place your cup or disc inside.
- Hold the lid closed and gently shake.
- Pour the water into the toilet or sink.
- Reinsert or clean again when you are home.
3-Hole Steriliser Pod
Microwave Steam Clean
- Rinse your menstrual cup or disc first.
- Half-fill the pod with water.
- Place your cup or disc inside.
- Close the lid securely.
- Microwave for 3–5 minutes.
- Carefully pour hot water out through the lid holes.
- Allow to cool before opening.
Boiling Water Method
- Place your cup or disc inside the pod.
- Fill with boiling water.
- Close the lid.
- Leave for 10 minutes.
- Pour the water out through the lid holes.
- Allow to cool before removing your cup or disc.
Quick Rinse
- Add water.
- Place your cup or disc inside.
- Cover the holes with your finger and gently shake.
- Pour the water out through the holes.
- Reinsert or clean again when possible.
Extra Tips
Use before first use and between cycles.
During your period, rinse with clean water before reinserting.
Let your cup or disc dry fully before storing.
Avoid harsh soaps, oils, bleach, vinegar, or fragranced cleaners.
